How do I find my shade without testing in person?

Work out undertone first — warm (golden), cool (pink) or neutral — then depth. Match against your jawline in daylight, not your hand or wrist, which are usually a different tone. Our INIKA trial sets in Light and Medium let you test four products at small sizes before buying full ones, which is the closest thing to an in-store match.

Loose mineral, pressed, liquid or serum foundation?

Loose mineral powder is buildable, breathable and good for oily skin. Pressed and baked formats are more portable with more coverage per pass. Liquid gives the most even finish and suits dry skin. Serum foundations are the lightest — skincare-forward with sheer colour. Coverage and finish matter more than format name.

What does "buildable coverage" mean in practice?

That one layer is sheer and more layers add opacity. It is genuinely useful — but each layer adds texture, so building to full coverage with a sheer product often looks heavier than one pass of a fuller-coverage formula. If you routinely want full coverage, buy for it.

Do mineral foundations with SPF replace sunscreen?

No. Several INIKA loose mineral foundations state SPF25, but powder is applied far too thinly and unevenly to achieve labelled protection. Treat it as a bonus over proper sunscreen, never as a substitute.

Is mineral foundation better for blemish-prone skin?

Often, because formulas tend to be shorter and skip fragrance and many preservatives, reducing possible triggers. But zinc and titanium dioxide can be drying, and no foundation treats blemishes. Patch test and introduce one product at a time.
