Description
There is an area in the middle of the retina of the eye called the macula. It is also called the macula, and many people suffer from macular degeneration (AMD), which is the most common cause of impaired vision in older people.
VitalVision contains a formula developed after the world’s largest study on age-related eye diseases, AREDS 2. The capsules contain the important antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin that are naturally found in the macula, zinc that contributes to maintaining normal vision, and copper, vitamins C and E that contribute to to protect the cells against oxidative stress.
About the AREDS studies:
The first AREDS study ran for five years and was run by researchers at the National Eye Institute in the United States. The study included approximately 4,800 participants and resulted in a 25% reduced risk of AMD progression in those with severe AMD. Later came the AREDS 2 study where the researchers made some changes to the formula as they felt there was room for further improvement, lowering the risk of developing severe AMD by a further 18%.
The AREDS 2 formula is recommended by the National Eye Institute to reduce the risk of progression of age-related changes in the macular.
Dosage & use
Dosage for adults: 1 capsules per day or as recommended.
